UFC Vegas 54 has been an interesting card. The event started with Nate Diaz protege Nick Maximov meeting Andre Petroski in a middleweight bout.
Both came into it with similar records and couple UFC fights under their belt.
The bout was over before it started – at the one minute mark Maximov shot for a single leg takedown.
Petroski shows his jiu jitsu is not to be underestimated and reverses. During the scramble Petroski latches onto an anaconda choke.
He advances the position hoping to finish the submission. He has it locked up, at this point he starts talking to the referee Chris Tognoni. Sure enough, Maximov is sound asleep.
This was quite interesting considering Maximov was the biggest favorite on the card – this makes their records Andre Petroski (8-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Nick Maximov (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC).
