Chael Sonnen floats rumor that Nate Diaz and Michael Chandler deal is on the table

UFC veteran Chael Sonnen often floats a number of less than credible rumors.

Thanks to his connections with the UFC brass, Sonnen speak can never be completely disregarded.

Recently he revealed that the UFC has booked a Nate Diaz vs Michael Chandler bout. Sonnen said he received the info from a trusted source.

UFC welterweight Nate Diaz has not competed since June last year and the UFC hasn’t even given a name for Nate Diaz, late alone the date and place.

Diaz has one more left on his contract and the UFC seems to be benching him in order to resign him.

Chael Sonnen  claimed that he received info regarding Diaz’s next fight. Sonnen said the UFC has booked a fight for Nate Diaz against lightweight top contender Michael Chandler.

“I woke up this morning to a message. Very very good source told me Nate Diaz vs Michael Chandler is done.” Sonnen said on his Youtube channel.

Michael Chandler has called out Nate Diaz following his victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 274. He took to his Twitter account to take aim at Diaz who was still desperately looking to finish his contract.

“Hey [Nate Diaz]. Shut up and stop complaining. Keep your mouth shut. Keep your head down until your daddy books a fight for you to get your sacrificial dome bounced off the canvas again. Maybe it’ll be me…if you’re lucky. See you at the top!” Chandler wrote.

It didn’t take long for Nate Diaz to post a tweet about his available time and weight class.

“July 30th, 170lbs.” Diaz wrote.

Chandler responded, “I’m there. Quick turn around. Spin your head on its axis.”

Both athletes have agreed and it’s up to the UFC to book and arrange the schedule.
