Carson Schultz began taking PEDs at 17, and the consequences have been severe. Now, he has already developed significant gynecomastia, severe acne, and was experiencing nipple discharge.
He had previously gone cold turkey off testosterone simply because he couldn’t afford more supplies. Now 19, his situation has deteriorated further. However, he continues to position himself as a fitness authority to younger audiences.
The young man’s current circumstances paint a concerning picture. He recently shared a video explaining how a simple trip to Walmart left him gasping for air halfway through the store. He had to stop in an aisle to catch his breath after walking to grab just two items.
He acknowledged that bulking while running gear, combined with a sedentary lifestyle working desk sales for life insurance and doing zero cardiovascular exercise, created a dangerous combination.
This breathlessness is particularly alarming. According to research, anabolic roid use significantly impacts heart function. Users can experience an average increase of approximately 30 grams in heart weight and a drop in ejection fraction by about 5 percentage points. The left ventricle can thicken, reducing both filling capacity and pumping efficiency.
This makes adequate blood flow difficult, leading to rapid fatigue. When pressure backs up toward the lungs, it creates congestion that makes breathing extremely difficult. For someone at 19 to struggle walking through a retail store suggests serious cardiovascular compromise.
Despite his obvious health decline, Carson continues offering advice to minors. In comment sections, he has recommended that 15-year-olds take MK-677, a growth hormone secretagogue. This recommendation is particularly troubling given his own documented complications. His visible gynecomastia, which developed from poorly managed estrogen levels, is a condition that could have been prevented with proper monitoring and aromatase inhibitor use or careful compound selection.
The transformation from his natural physique at 15 or 16 to his current state represents a cautionary tale. Before starting PEDs, he had built an impressive foundation naturally. Research suggests that even conservative natural training could yield approximately 16 to 20 lbs of lean muscle over three years for a dedicated lifter.
Had he continued training naturally with proper nutrition and programming, his physique at 19 could have been remarkable without the accompanying health consequences.
Instead, his gains appear to consist primarily of water retention and breast tissue development rather than quality muscle mass. His closet contains bins full of used needles, a visual representation of the extensive PED use required to maintain his current condition. He has pivoted from fitness coaching to business coaching and now to cold calling for life insurance sales, suggesting his coaching ventures never gained traction.
At 19, Carson faces potential long-term cardiovascular damage, permanent gynecomastia requiring surgical intervention, and an uncertain path forward.
