Former Miss Germany Set to Make Boxing Debut

A beauty queen is trading her crown for boxing gloves. Tatjana Genrich who won the Miss Germany title in 2022, will step into the ring as a professional boxer on November 2026 in Magdeburg, Germany.

According to sources, the 33-year-old isn’t entirely new to the sport. Before her modelling career took off, Genrich was a decorated amateur boxer who held the Saxony-Anhalt state championship in the flyweight division from 2007 to 2009. Her journey into combat sports began during a difficult period in her youth.

“At school I was often bullied and I wanted to find a way to defend myself. That’s how it all started,” Genrich explained.

Her boxing talent was first recognized at a sports school in Halle, Germany, where promoter Ulf Steinforth discovered her. Years passed as Genrich built a successful modelling career and established her own agency, which now represents 80 models.

The reconnection between Genrich and the boxing world came through an unexpected conversation. “Since I sponsor the ring girls at his boxing events, he approached me one day and asked if I wouldn’t like to get back in the ring. I finally agreed and am now about to make my professional debut,” Genrich said of Steinforth’s proposition.

Now she’s preparing for her professional debut with serious dedication. Genrich trains five full days per week under the guidance of Dirk Dzemski, who previously coached Robert Stieglitz to a world championship. Her preparation draws on skills from both her athletic and modelling backgrounds.

“I train in areas like posture, running and choreography. This prepares me for competitions as well as events like fashion shows,” she noted.

SES Boxing, the promotion backing Genrich’s return to the ring, sees significant potential in the former beauty queen. The organization has drawn comparisons between Genrich and Regina Halmich, one of Germany’s most accomplished female boxers who won 54 of 56 professional bouts between 1994 and 2017. Halmich also balanced boxing with modelling for German magazines.

“Tatjana can follow in Regina Halmich’s footsteps. She has all the necessary qualities, an incredible presence, and is extremely ambitious,” SES Boxing stated.

For Genrich, the return to boxing represents more than personal achievement. She views her unconventional career trajectory as an opportunity to demonstrate what’s possible for women who refuse to be limited by traditional expectations.

“I want to be a role model for young women and show them that you can be successful in both your career and sports,” Genrich said.
