Influencer Asmongold has a message for anyone tempted to mock his appearance online: keep it coming. The Twitch star, real name Zack Hoyt, has built a following partly on his willingness to let fans see the unfiltered version of his life, from his notoriously cluttered broadcast room to running commentary on his own hygiene.
Now he says that public mockery is something he actually wants more of, because it pushes him toward the physical changes he claims he is trying to make.
The comments followed a resurfaced photograph showing Asmongold with poor posture, an image he initially doubted was real. Rather than brushing off the renewed mockery, he leaned into it, telling his audience that the criticism serves a purpose.
“Every single time somebody posts a picture like this of me, I appreciate it. The body-shaming and the degrading of me for the way that I look works, and it makes me more readily aware of my weight and size, and it makes me more motivated to exercise and look better,” Asmongold told fans. “This does not bother me at all. In fact, you should probably be doing this even more. But I do think this is fake. I hope it’s fake. I really, really hope it is fake.”

It is a strange kind of motivational strategy, but one that fits a persona Asmongold has cultivated for years. His messy room and personal upkeep have long been running jokes among viewers, who frequently ask him on-camera how he tolerates the conditions he broadcasts from, or press him for progress reports on cleaning up his act.
He has occasionally embraced the chaos rather than deny it, at one point claiming he was “beginning to evolve” during a stretch when he went three months without showering. He has also spoken about eating differently than most people because of missing teeth, and previously admitted to using sandpaper on his own teeth.
Even so, Asmongold has signaled he wants a different chapter. He has talked about pursuing a hair transplant and has taken on a renovation of his living space in an effort to tidy up the environment fans have mocked for so long.
Some viewers have credited his girlfriend with helping nudge those changes along after he was seen on camera in a noticeably cleaner house. He has also floated cosmetic surgery he described as “life-changing,” saying the procedure would leave him looking less messed up.
