The planned UFC event on the White House lawn came up during episode #2507 of the Joe Rogan Experience featuring comedian Harland Williams, where Joe Rogan shared mixed feelings about the idea and praised President Trump’s willingness to stage something so unconventional.
When Williams asked for his thoughts on the White House event itself, Rogan immediately admitted he was not fully sold on the setting.
“I do not like it,” Rogan said plainly. Explaining why, he added, “Because it’s outside and I think world championship matches should be in a controlled environment because out of respect for the athletes and how difficult it is to compete professionally in a world title.”
Even with those reservations, Rogan acknowledged the scale of the spectacle.
“However, it’s going to be a spectacle,” he said. “Whether I was there or not, I would be watching 100%.”
Rogan also confirmed that he will be there calling the matches. When Williams joked about whether the venue would actually be safe considering the presence of world leaders, Rogan responded with sarcasm.
“Yeah, that seems like a good safe place to be, huh?” Rogan joked. “Everyone’s going to know where all the world leaders are going to be. We’re all going to be stuck sitting in that spot for six hours calling matches.”
Despite his concerns about the logistics, Rogan spoke warmly about Trump’s willingness to push forward with the event.
“I think it’s awesome that Trump, this is one of the things that I like about him,” Rogan said. “He’s like, ‘F**k it. Let’s do it.’ He puts on cage matches on the White House lawn. That’s nuts. He’s fearless.”
Rogan continued praising Trump’s unpredictability and willingness to embrace unconventional ideas. “He does wild s**t,” Rogan added. “I like that. I like that part.”
However, Rogan made it clear that his appreciation for Trump’s personality does not extend to every political decision, especially regarding Iran.
“I don’t like the Iran war thing,” Rogan said directly.
