Powerlifter, bodybuilder, and arm wrestler Larry Wheels has built a reputation for his transparency around PED use. In a recent broadcast, he revealed just how aggressively he uses the peptide TB-500 before stepping into competition.
Wheels disclosed that when a competition deadline is approaching and his body is dealing with significant inflammation, particularly in the elbows, he does not ease into a conservative dosing protocol. He goes all in.
According to Wheels, he puts down an entire bottle of TB-500 in the week leading up to a contest, and the results, at least in the short term, speak for themselves.
“I’ve used it in various cases where, like, especially with arm wrestling, I had, like, really bad elbow inflammation,” Wheels said. “I’d put a whole bottle of TB-500, like, a week leading out to the competition. And then I’m, like, pain-free.”
The relief, however, is not permanent. Wheels made no effort to dress up the reality of what happens once the competition is over: the pain returns.
“It’ll come back after the competition,” he acknowledged, “but at least I can get to the comp, not overthink it, pull pain-free.”
When pressed on whether a full bottle was genuinely necessary, Wheels did not waver. “Whole bottle. Yeah, because if I take a small dose, it just doesn’t leave me enough,” he explained.
His reasoning centers on the idea that TB-600 serves a very specific and time-limited purpose for competitive athletes. As he framed it, the peptide functions as a bridge that allows a competitor to push through physical limitations long enough to actually perform.
“If you’re an athlete and you have a deadline where you have to perform, it can help you train throughout and reach that deadline,” he said, drawing a contrast with treatments like antibiotics, which he noted would not help in the same way and could actually increase inflammation rather than suppress it.
Wheels has previously gone on record confirming that many competitive bodybuilders use GLP-1 receptor agonists such as retatrutide, tirzepatide, and semaglutide alongside anabolic stuff during contest preparation.
“Many bodybuilders actually do use things like Retatrutide, Ozempic, Tirzepatide to get an edge when they’re preparing for a bodybuilding show in addition to roids,” he said in a separate conversation.
Wheels has also been vocal about recommending retatrutide to others seeking a starting point for fat loss, having suggested it to influencer Adin Ross and his associates during an online broadcast.
“With Retatrutide, it will give you the momentum you need to get started with your fat loss journey because it’ll nuke your appetite and your cravings,” he told Ross.
