During an appearance on the Flagrant podcast, comedian Tom Segura found his recent weight loss brought up almost immediately. The hosts framed the transformation as a case of unfortunate timing in an era dominated by weight-loss treatments.
“He lost weight in the worst time in history because nobody believes that it was an honest thing,” host Andrew Schulz said.
Segura dropped significant weight during a period when GLP-1 treatments like Ozempic had become widely discussed. As a result, many public figures who experienced visible transformations were met with skepticism, regardless of how they achieved their results.
The Flagrant hosts were quick to clarify that they believed Segura’s progress came without pharma assistance. “You did it honestly,” Schulz told him.
The conversation then shifted to Segura’s longtime friend and fellow comedian Bert Kreischer, and the comparison quickly turned humorous. According to Segura, Kreischer had previously mocked the idea of using weight-loss injec tions while on tour.
“And not only that, my buddy Bert went on tour,” Segura said. “And on tour in arenas, he would be like, ‘Tom, jabbing Ozempic.’ And I’m like….”
According to the discussion, Kreischer eventually lost roughly 50 pounds after starting treatment with Mounjaro, another GLP-1 receptor agonist.
“He was like, ‘I never would. I would never do that,’” Segura said. “I was like, ‘Yeah, but you’re fat.’ Like, and then this year he lost like 50 lbs with Mounjaro.”
The hosts also poked fun at the public explanations often given for dramatic transformations. “And people think it’s because he was running two and a half miles,” Schulz joked.
Segura closed the exchange with an observation about his friend’s lifestyle. “It’s crazy he’s alive, dude,” he said.
During episode #2429 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Segura spoke with Joe Rogan about a research treatment known as SLU-PP-332.
Segura described the treatment as potentially groundbreaking, citing animal research that suggested significant body composition changes without physical activity.
“They tested it on mice and found that by giving it to mice, they decreased their body fat and increased muscle, lean mass, doing nothing,” he said.
According to the data he referenced, studies in obese mouse models showed dramatic metabolic effects, including reduced fat gain and measurable weight loss without changes in appetite or activity levels.
When Rogan asked whether he had personally experimented with it, Segura confirmed that he had. “I have taken it. Yeah,” he said.
The compound is taken orally, but Segura said the experience itself was uneventful. When Rogan pressed him on what it felt like, the comedian responded plainly: “Nothing. I felt nothing.”
