Female bodybuilder Serene has recently become the center of intense online debate after claiming to be completely natural despite carrying muscle mass that many experts suggest defies natural female hormone profiles.
The Dutch athlete stands 5’7″ and weighs 175 lbs (79 kg) of lean mass. Her physique has prompted fitness coach Kolton to question the authenticity of her natural status. In a recent YouTube video, he noted that her development appears unusual for someone her age.
According to Kolton, who has worked extensively in the fitness industry, such muscle mass typically doesn’t develop naturally in young female athletes without additional pharma assistance.

What makes this situation particularly controversial is Serene’s participation in tested competitions.
Many of her supporters point to her competitive record as proof of her natural status. However, research reveals a significant gap between actual PED use among elite athletes and detection rates.

A study commissioned by the WADA surveyed elite athletes at the 2011 World Championships using anonymous techniques. Results showed that 40 to 45 percent of athletes admitted to doping within the previous year. Yet official testing at these events catches only 0.5 to 3.5 percent of athletes.
The pharma industry continually develops new peptides, many of which don’t appear on banned lists for years. Some s**stances, like growth hormone, can be used consistently and stopped shortly before testing due to their transient effects, making detection difficult.
Serene’s size becomes more striking when compared to her competition. Standing alongside fellow junior competitors, she noticeably dwarfs other athletes in her category.

One male circus performer named Jamie commented that their statistics were nearly identical, highlighting how unusual it is for a young female athlete to match or exceed the muscle mass of trained male athletes.
The athlete resides in the Netherlands, where PED use as non-prescribed medicine remains prohibited. However, gender affirming therapy clinics in the country can legally prescribe testosterone and other androgens with minimal questioning, creating a potential legal pathway for obtaining such substances.
When Serene directly claimed natural status in a post, her comment section filled with skepticism. Followers suggested she should be honest about gear use while still receiving credit for her hard work and dedication.

Her response indicated that her profile wasn’t for doubters and that she found it frustrating when people assumed enhancement based on her size.
The situation is complicated by a lack of a documented timeline. Serene only began posting fitness content in July of the previous year, providing little historical progression to analyze. A single photo from 2020 shows her noticeably smaller, but the limited visual history makes definitive conclusions difficult.
Coach Kolton emphasizes that regardless of enhancement use, Serene’s physique still requires exceptional genetics, dedication, and hard work. Many people using PEDs never achieve comparable results. His primary concern centers on potential dishonesty with followers about PED use, which he considers problematic given the influence fitness personalities hold over their audiences.
