Take Me Down Win $1000 Guy Is Transitioning To MMA

Georgio Poullas, the internet sensation known for challenging strangers to wrestling matches for $1,000, has confirmed his transition into mixed martial arts. During a recent interview, Poullas revealed details about his upcoming MMA debut.

When asked if MMA was in his future, Poullas made a significant announcement: “A lot of people don’t really know this yet. First time I mentioned it was on the last podcast I was on like maybe two days ago, but I actually had my first MMA match March 7th in London. So, right after the match, I’ll be flying out to London for my first MMA bout.”

The match will take place under the Misfits MMA promotion against what Poullas described as “an overflow jiu-jitsu guy.” Despite the quick turnaround after his scheduled Real American Freestyle 6 match against Arman Tsarukyan on February 28th, Poullas expressed confidence in his preparation.

“I feel great. I think the wrestling is preparing me well, too. And at the same time, I’m doing a lot of kicks, a little bit of punching, a lot of kicks,” Poullas explained. “I feel good, man. I feel good about it. I’m a figh ter. That’s what I do… You should see everything I’m doing behind the scenes to prepare myself for the spotlight.”

Addressing concerns about his striking ability, Poullas clarified his training focus: “Really what I got going for me, what I’ve been focusing on more than punches is my kicks. I’ve been doing a lot of taekwondo. I can throw some really cool kicks, and I’m feeling pretty dangerous with my kicks.”

He emphasized his desire to be an entertaining combat star, stating: “I don’t want to be that combatant that’s boring. Like I love it. I love wrestlers, but they are boring to watch sometimes and I want to be the guy to put on the show.”

When questioned about how far he intends to take his MMA career, Poullas revealed a deeper commitment: “I’m a big fan of martial arts and I’ve always been a figh ter my whole life. You know, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do, but you know, now that I have a lot of open doors with some different contracts and whatnot, you know, I’m training this anyway, so might as well make some money from it, right?”

He continued with a more philosophical perspective: “I think it’s kind of undeniable right now. I think it’s what God has been putting in my face for a long time, telling me like, hey this is your calling. And it’s kind of hard for me to ignore it. No matter how much I try to get away from it, it’s that one thing that’s always there.”

Poullas acknowledged the lifestyle changes accompanying his new focus: “No more just the social media life having fun. You know, it was great while I was out here in LA. I really enjoyed my life. But now life is boring and life is good, you know. So, we’re doing all the right things, training hard, man, and I’m excited to showcase my skills.”
