A significant business relationship in the combat sports world appears to have reached its conclusion. MMA journalist Ariel Helwani has reported that Jake Paul’s association with PFL has ended.
According to Helwani, the YouTube star turned boxer’s connection to the organization has dissolved. “What I’m hearing is that, you know, whatever affiliation, business-wise or not, that Jake Paul and his team had with the PFL, I’m hearing that that is no more,” Helwani stated during a recent broadcast.
The partnership between Paul and the PFL had been established a couple of years ago and generated considerable attention within the mixed martial arts community. The arrangement sparked ongoing speculation about whether the social media personality might eventually compete under the promotion’s banner.
Helwani indicated that the business term connecting Paul to the league has simply run its course. “So that is, you know, something that kept being brought up regarding, would he fight, would he not, promotional, that was a big thing that they did a couple years ago. I’m told that that term has come to an end,” the journalist explained.

The dissolution of this relationship marks a notable shift in Paul’s combat sports trajectory. While he built his boxing career through high-profile matches against fellow content creators and former MMA competitors, his ties to the PFL represented a potential gateway into the world of mixed martial arts competition.
The PFL operates with a unique season format and tournament structure, differentiating itself from other major MMA organizations. Paul’s involvement had brought additional mainstream attention to the promotion during their business relationship.
The promotion has also seen the departure of two major names: former CEO Peter Murray and founder Donn Davis. Murray’s exit was confirmed earlier this month following the appointment of John Martin as the new CEO.
Shortly after, Davis announced his own departure on Wednesday, sharing a lengthy statement on social media in which he reflected on the PFL’s growth since its inception.
