Conor McGregor Credits Hallucinogens And Numerology For Vatican Wedding

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has revealed that a hallucinogenic treatment in Mexico sparked his decision to finally marry longtime partner Dee Devlin after 16 years together. He talked about it in a recent social media post, while also sharing elaborate numerological connections he believes made the December ceremony divinely ordained.

The Irish MMA icon wed Devlin, 38, on December 12 at the Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini, a small church located behind St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican. The ceremony took place at precisely 12:12pm, a timing McGregor insists was orchestrated by forces beyond his control.

“I married the love of my life, Dee, on the 12th of the 12th at exactly 12:12pm. We wed in the Chapel of Santo Stefano degli Abissini — the Vatican’s oldest church,” McGregor stated in his announcement on social media. “The date was precisely 151 days after my birthday. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ — His name adds up to 151 in gematria. As does my own. Jesus Christ = 151. Conor McGregor = 151.”

The former two-division champion explained that the urgent desire to marry came after undergoing hallucinogenic therapy intended to address trauma in Tijuana. McGregor had previously disclosed in November that during the treatment, he experienced visions of his own death and encountered Jesus.

“The exact 12:12pm timing was not my plan at all. A letter from the Vatican arrived just a week prior, requiring the ceremony to be moved earlier,” McGregor said, attributing the schedule change to divine intervention rather than logistical necessity.

McGregor continued his numerological analysis by connecting the 151-day interval to Psalm 151, which he described as “a powerful, personal testament of David’s journey and victory through faith.”

“These divine alignments, the wedding on 12/12 at exactly 12:12pm in the Vatican’s oldest church, exactly 151 days after my birthday, tying into the numerology of my name matching that of Jesus Christ, and even the connection to Psalm 151 are unmistakable signs of divine orchestration that I had no idea about,” he said.

“It is clear this was not coincidence,” McGregor added. “God’s hand guided every detail, confirming His blessing on our union and His presence in my life. Serving God is my number one priority. Then my wife. Then my children. Then my parents. I love You, God.”

The couple had initially hoped to marry in the Sistine Chapel, but Vatican regulations prohibit wedding ceremonies in that location, according to insiders familiar with the planning.

Details of the private celebration have gradually emerged, including footage showing the newlyweds sharing their first dance to Mariah Carey’s “Dreamlover.” The pair were also photographed being transported through Rome in a white 1930s Rolls Royce Phantom III decorated with flowers and ribbons.

McGregor wore a black tuxedo complete with waistcoat and bow tie, while Devlin selected a white lace dress, small diamond earrings, and styled her hair in an updo. The festivities extended well into the evening, featuring a live band and a station for rolling cigars.

McGregor concluded his message by expressing gratitude: “I love you, Dee McGregor. I love you, Conor Jr., Croía, Rían, Mack. I love you, Mam and Dad. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GOD.”

Devlin has remained with McGregor through various controversies, including a recent civil court case where a jury found him liable for assault. The couple has four children together.

The marriage announcement comes as McGregor continues training for a potential return to competition, though UFC CEO Dana White has downplayed immediate comeback plans. The Irish athlete served a suspension for missed testing that recently concluded, making him eligible to compete again starting March 20.
