Traditional martial artist claims Dana White wanted to sign him to the UFC despite ridiculous demo

A Chinese martial artist practicing the traditional Tongbei Chuan style has captured widespread attention online after claiming that UFC CEO Dana White expressed interest in signing him to the organization, despite his unconventional demonstration techniques.

In the viral video, the practitioner showcases what the video narration describes as lightning-fast punches that allegedly create sharp cracking sounds as they cut through the air.

In his demonstrations, he performs fluid, whip-like movements where his arms remain completely relaxed before transferring explosive force to his fists in what appears to be one continuous motion.

“The arm stays completely relaxed and whips out like a rope, transferring force all the way to the fist in one explosive instant,” the narration explained in video, which has garnered millions of views across social media platforms.

Perhaps most impressively, he claims to have bent a wrench using nothing but his striking technique, though skeptics have raised questions about the quality and origin of the tool in question. The demonstration has drawn comparisons to various anime styles, with many viewers noting similarities to techniques featured in popular series like “Baki.”

Online audiences are divided. While some express genuine curiosity about seeing such techniques tested in a professional setting, others remain highly skeptical of their practical application.

The distinctive sound effects that accompany his movements have become a particular point of contention, with observers debating whether the sharp cracks genuinely result from air displacement or from the practitioner’s hands making contact with each other during his fluid motions.

The timing of these claims coincides with the UFC’s expanding presence in Asia. The organization recently announced a significant four-year partnership with Galaxy Macau, committing to host three annual events in the casino city through 2029.

This expansion follows what Dana White described as “incredible” experiences during his recent visits to China, where he praised the local culture and athletic talent.

“I’ve just returned from China and everything about it was incredible – the culture, the people and the athletes,” White stated in connection with the Macau partnership announcement. “It’s great for fans in China and massive for the sport.”

The UFC’s Asian expansion includes the continuation of their “Road to UFC” program, which has already provided opportunities for 18 Asian athletes, including several Chinese standouts, to compete in the organization. This development has led some to speculate about whether unconventional martial arts demonstrations might serve promotional purposes for the UFC’s growing Asian market presence.

Social media reactions to the Tongbei Chuan practitioner’s claims have ranged from genuine enthusiasm to outright mockery.
