The long-standing feud between UFC star Conor McGregor and rap mogul 50 Cent appears to have come to an end as the two celebrities crossed paths in Dublin this weekend.
The unlikely reunion took place at McGregor’s own establishment, The Black Forge Inn. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, celebrated his milestone 50th birthday in that place ahead of his headlining performance at Longitude Festival in Marlay Park.
McGregor himself confirmed the meeting by sharing footage on social media showing the rapper entering the venue while his iconic hit “In da Club” played in the background.
“50 Cent in da house at The Black Forge to celebrate his birthday! Happy birthday 50!” McGregor wrote alongside the clip.
In a follow-up post, an enthusiastic McGregor added: “50 cent is in the gaf now! THE BLACK FORGE INN! His 50th bday today. SPECTACULAR.”
The seemingly cordial interaction marks a massive shift in their relationship, which has been characterized by heated exchanges since 2017. The animosity began during McGregor’s promotional tour for his match against Floyd Mayweather, a close friend of 50 Cent.
During press conferences, McGregor made derogatory comments about the rapper, which sparked years of back-and-forth insults.
In one notable instance, 50 Cent was quoted saying: “As soon as they get that first big check, they’re gonna leave their motherf**king wife and kids like McGregor and s**t.” McGregor had his own choice words for the rapper, once declaring: “50 cents a b**ch!”
Their online feud escalated to the point where, in 2019, McGregor even expressed interest in a physical confrontation with the rapper after 50 Cent repeatedly shared unflattering memes about him.
The birthday celebration at The Black Forge Inn wasn’t exclusive to the two celebrities. Remarkably, a baby shower was also taking place at the venue the same evening. Mother-to-be Leah Doyle captured a viral moment with the rapper, who was seen posing with her and touching her baby bump.
