Joe Rogan reacts to drag queens reading to children: What are the odds of the person having ‘other’ problems?

UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan has sparked controversy with his recent comments regarding drag queens reading to children in educational settings. He questioned both the purpose and appropriateness of such events.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan drew a clear line between what he believes should be taught in schools and what shouldn’t. He particularly emphasized that educators should focus on core academic subjects rather than issues related to gender expression.

“If you’re teaching history, I want you to teach what happened in 1943. I want you to teach math. This is how you count. This is how you divide. This is algebra. This is what you’re supposed to be doing. That’s what you’re hired for,” Rogan stated.

The commentator specifically addressed drag queen story hours, which have become increasingly common in libraries and schools across the country. These events typically feature performers in drag reading children’s books to young audiences in an effort to promote inclusivity and diversity.

“If you’re a drag queen and you’re not teaching how to be a drag queen… If somebody wants to take drag queen courses, all for you. But I don’t think you should be reading stories to little kids. Just seems weird,” Rogan said.

Rogan questioned the justification often given for such events: “For what reason? Inclusiveness? That’s bulls**t. It’s bulls**t. Because it’s not inclusive of many other perspectives, traditional perspective or religious perspective. A general kind of conservative perspective.”

The podcast host also raised concerns about potential vetting issues, suggesting that people who participate in drag might have “other problems” that would make them inappropriate role models for children.

“I’m not accusing all of them of having other problems. I’m sure some of them are just lovely people who like to wear women’s clothes. Have at it. Have a good time,” Rogan clarified. “However, there’s a possibility that you might be a kinky freak.”
