(Video) Brendan Schaub doesn’t understand satire, claims UFC bantamweight was paid $2M for ball pictures

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub found himself at the center of online ridicule after apparently taking a satirical joke from UFC bantamweight Cory Sandhagen completely seriously during a recent podcast discussion.

The controversy began when Schaub claimed that Sandhagen had earned $2 million in a single month on OF  by posting photos of his privates. According to the clip, Schaub stated with apparent conviction: “Cory Sandhagen, and I’m sure you heard this where he just starts showing his nuts and he was making they said two million dollars.”

What Schaub failed to recognize was that Sandhagen’s comments were clearly satirical in nature. The UFC bantamweight was making exaggerated, tongue-in-cheek remarks about his supposed earnings, complete with absurd details about a fictional subscriber called “god of horror 69” and outlandish claims about his content.

In the original video, Sandhagen can be heard delivering his lines with obvious comedic timing, saying things like “every man has his price and mine is 60” and referencing movie scenes from “Waiting” while describing various poses. The entire segment was filled with self-deprecating humor and clearly absurd scenarios that any reasonable listener would identify as parody.

However, Schaub appeared to miss all the comedic cues entirely. When his co-hosts expressed disbelief, Schaub doubled down, insisting a producer “look it up” and maintaining that the bantamweight had genuinely earned the astronomical sum through content creation.

Many users have pointed out that Schaub’s apparent inability to detect obvious satire raises questions about his credibility as a podcaster and commentator.

Sandhagen has not publicly responded to Schaub’s misinterpretation of his satirical comments. The star’s actual social media presence shows no evidence of the content that Schaub described so earnestly.

This isn’t the first time Schaub has faced criticism for his commentary or analysis, but the incident has particularly resonated with audiences who view it as a prime example of how misinformation can spread when satirical content is taken at face value.
