The MMA world is no stranger to surprises, but few could have predicted Bob “The Beast” Sapp returning back into the cage.
According to an announcement made during a recent MAS Fight MMA live event in Cambodia, the 51-year-old Sapp is set to debut for the promotion later this year. His opponent will be Yi Long, the Chinese martial artist known worldwide for his “Shaolin Monk” persona.

Across his decades-long career in MMA and kickboxing, Sapp has built a reputation for producing some of the sport’s most memorable moments. He famously scored two kickboxing victories over the legendary Ernesto Hoost, and also went on to endure a 14-fight losing streak in MMA.
That streak was finally snapped in 2018, when Sapp secured what many assumed would be the last MMA victory of his career. Since then, he’s stepped away from traditional competition, instead appearing in unconventional matchups.
Sapp most notably teamed up with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for Full Metal Dojo’s Fight Circus in 2023. The duo, bound together by a single oversized T-shirt in a “Siamese boxing match,” managed to secure a third-round TKO win.
The pair branded themselves as Twopollo RamSapp Creed and went up against Sloppy ‘The Irish’ Balboa. It was a team made up of promotion boss Jon Nutt and Bangtao coach Woody.
Sapp’s last official MMA contest came more than seven years ago, making this return one of the most unlikely comebacks of the year.
